Student Led Conferences
This year, Big Hollow Middle School will participate in Student-Led Conferences in order to allow students to take ownership of their learning and present their accomplishments to their families. During the week leading up to conferences, students will take time to complete and personalize a slideshow that showcases their learning.
Students are expected to attend conferences with their families on Tuesday, February 19th and present their work to their family. They will talk about their current grades, what they like about each class, and goals they would like to reach. After students present their goals, there will be a short period of time in which families will be able to discuss any other questions/concerns with their teachers.
7th grade students will not be handed a “recommendation” letter that is sent home requesting or not requesting a conference, as we have done in the past. Rather, the 7th Grade Team would like to invite all students and their families to attend Big Hollow’s First Student-Led Conferences on Tuesday, February 19th, 2019. Conference times are from 11am- 7pm with a dinner break for teachers from 4:00pm- 5:00pm.
